Throughout the year Ramara Fire & Rescue Services receives several open air burning complaints.  This number increases this time of year as many residents are trying to get rid of yard waste by burning it.  This yard waste tends to create an abundance of smoke, which affects the lives of those around you.  Please be advised that the County of Simcoe will collect yard waste on certain days – this may be a better option then burning your yard waste.  Please visit their website for yard waste collection days, www.simcoe.ca or call 1-800-263-3199 (toll free).
